With my wife in the hospital and Covid visitation rules in full effect I'm feeling more than a little useless and helpless. I'm left getting sporadic updates by phone and text rather than my more typical approach, moving into the hospital until she's well enough to be released. I wrote this for her on February the 3rd, but didn't get a chance to upload it until now.
Lyrics
I'm reaching for that six string to help dull the pain. Playing back some memories of better yesterdays thinking back on simpler times hoping tomorrow looks that way.
The way you'd sway to the rhythm when I'd play you a song. You didn't know the words, but you'd still hum along. I'd give anything right now if you could still dance that way.
Gimme one more sunrise, gimme one more bright blue summer sky. Gimme a sweet sunset that I'll never forget and one more up all night talking tangled up in that bed.
I can't stay by your side, so I pick up the phone. I ask how you are, though I know something's wrong. More tests but no answers. I'm at my wits end.
Gimme one more sunrise, gimme one more bright blue summer sky. Gimme a sweet sunset that I'll never forget and one more up all night talking tangled up in that bed.
Come back to me
Come back to me
Come back to me
Come back to me
Gimme one more sunrise, gimme one more bright blue summer sky. Gimme a sweet sunset that I'll never forget and one more up all night talking tangled up in that bed.
