Physical Therapy, counseling, etc., anything you undertake to rebuild after an illness, injury or attack is never a competition against the others in the room. It's always a battle to take that next step.

Sometimes it's hard not to take a hit to the ego all the same. Getting lapped by a sweet little old lady while I couldn't take a step without support sure put a lot in perspective.

Lyrics

You just put that one foot in front of the other, even if it took all damn day, and half the night. To those who've never been there, sure don't seem like much, from where I'm propped up, man it shows real heart.

No need to compare progress to others, as we head home. All our struggles are different, and pain's something we own.

It doesn't matter who finished first, or who walked farther. It's about you diggin' deep, and trying hard
It doesn't matter who finished first, or who walked farther. It's about you diggin deep, and trying hard.

There's lots of ways to end up here, a few days a week they rebuild the body, but the scars within take years

It doesn't matter who finished first, or who walked farther. It's about you diggin' deep, and trying hard
It doesn't matter who finished first, or who walked farther. It's about you diggin deep, and trying hard.

It could be the legs, the arms or mind. Te struggles are real, and healing takes time.

It doesn't matter who finished first, or who walked farther. It's about you diggin' deep, and trying hard

I'm currently recording my EP, Just Getting Started.  The first single, The Cobbler, is available now above.

It's also go time for the 50/90 songwriting challenge from July 4th through October 1st, so there should be plenty of new material to discover here and on my social media throughout the summer.
