  1. That Matters

The idea behind this year's FAWM album project is "Still Healing". The idea was in its infancy during last years FAWM, pre-covid, pre-whatever this is, and pre-the whole world trying to figure out how to move forward and define our new normal.

The past several months have hit us pretty hard and that reached a tipping point not too long ago. I honestly had no idea how we were going to carry on. Not healthy enough for either of us to work, disability turning off my wife's benefits, my short term disability doing all they could to avoid making payments, bills piling up and health insurance, utilities etc. in danger of being turned off.

I put out a late night post on my personal page more as a frustrated rant at the injustice of all the things lined up against us than anything else but what we received instead was miracle after miracle. Our friends, family, acquaintances have reached out in droves. Even complete strangers that happened to be passing by took over when I was struggling to stay upright in an attempt to clear snow from our sidewalks.

We've been completely overwhelmed and can't possibly say think you enough to everyone, even if we knew how all the sources of help were. Hopefully this song gets the message across.

Lyrics

We may be down, we may be low, we may be deep in the darkness, with no clue how to rise up

That's when the miracles happen, and the light shines down, the angels, they sing, help us stand 'neath sheltering wings

Loving prayers help us ride out the storm and that matters, From near and far, kindness knows no bounds and that matters. The chaos surrounds us, but you've all held fast, I don't know how to thank you, please know that it matters to me, oh how it matters.

When flood waters recede, and we pick up the pieces, we'll forever be grateful, your love how it's changed us, know we'll pay it forward

Loving prayers, help us ride out the storm and that matters. From near and far, kindness knows no bounds and that matters. The chaos surrounds us, but you've all held fast, I don't know how to thank you, please know that it matters to me, oh how it matters.

(Instrumental Break)

Loving prayers, help us ride out the storm and that matters. From near and far, kindness knows no bounds and that matters. The chaos surrounds us, but you've all held fast, I don't know how to thank you, please know that it matters to me, oh how it matters.
