From the recording FAWM 2024
I'm based out of SE Michigan. I woke up this morning with a high forecast of mid 60's,and tonight's overnight low in the mid 50's. The last time I had to shovel snow was almost a month ago. In contrast, when our kids were little, I built them a snow fort in the front yard that was roughly 10'x10' about 5' high with crenelated walls and it stayed there for months providing neighborhood children a winter full of snowball fights and outdoor bonding time and exercise. Lake levels are down, hurricanes, tornadoes, severe storms and damaging winds are all on the rise, but the powers that be say a day of snow proves a month worth of mild weather can't possibly mean climate change is real. I may not be around to see the end, but my kids might, and the generation to follow is likely going to die in a hellscape if we don't find a solution.
Lyrics
Mother Nature's off her meds
I don't know what to make of it
Feels more like May than February
I haven't seen the snow
In three weeks or more
Any time it falls it's soon gone
What have we done, why can't we see
That our climate's running wild
Our seasons last days, we need to change
It's going off the rails
We need to fix this, before it's too late
The countdown is on, and we need to change
We ravage the planet
Just to make a buck
It worked till now, hey what could go wrong
What have we done, why can't we see
That our climate's running wild
Our seasons last days, we need to change
It's going off the rails
We need to fix this, before it's too late
The countdown is on, and we need to change
Change how we work, how we live, what we do
Change how we think, can't deny, must act soon
Can't accept that our past was alright
Or soon, our planet will give up the fight
What have we done, why can't we see
That our climate's running wild
Our seasons last days, we need to change
It's going off the rails
We need to fix this, before it's too late
The count is winding down
